Answer 1

Answer:

Although many American beauty standards are not achieved by treatments quite as painful as foot binding, women may often feel restricted by unrealistic body and beauty expectations. Foot binding was performed to make women seem dainty and delicate. Many women in America may feel the need to be small, dainty, and delicate to be beautiful. I daresay that the majority of models are quite slim, supporting this idea. To achieve this delicate, slim ideal, many women relentlessly calorie count, restrict their diets, and work out. Some even go to the point of starving themselves through eating disorders like anorexia. It is a great tragedy of society that anyone feels the need to change themselves in a harmful way to fit a mold.

However, I am hopeful that society is becoming more accepting of unique beauty, one that does not fit the mold. Unlike the required foot binding, most women can choose how they want to feel beautiful. Although society may push certain standards upon them, they can ultimately choose for themselves what to wear, what to eat, and how to change themselves. Many people now praise loving yourself and embracing your body for what it is, flaws and all. Lizzo once said, "Just about anybody is a big girl in a small world but you gotta believe it on the inside, that you can be bigger than the rest of it."

Go forth and make your own standards! :)

A. What problems do you foresee with the Missouri Compromise (Crisis)?

B. Do you think the American System helped create the Era of Good Feeling?

Answers

Answer:

A. The Missouri Compromise caused a great political crisis between the North and the South due to the belief of each region that they had rights to determine the fate of slavery for their specific region. This ultimately resulted in the balance of power being upset and ultimately led to the Civil War in 1861.

B. The American System was a major contributor to the period of the Era of Good Feeling. The system called for strong government, states' rights, promotion of agriculture and industry, a protective tariff, a national bank, and internal improvements. This period also saw the nation improve diplomatic relations with Europe with the Rush-Bagot Agreement of 1817 which established an official border between the US and British Canada. The American System provided a stable economic and political platform which created an atmosphere of relative prosperity and unity in the United States.

an internal trade with European settler colonies and an exteral transfer of raw materials to the U.S.
No answer text provided
A trade economy dependent exclusively on the US. This was due to American business interest that did not want interference from European settler colonies
economic policies that allowed it to freely engage in business any way it wanted, as long as it gave 1/4 of the profits to the U.S

Answers

The correct statement would be:

Liberia, as an independent republic with an unofficial protectorate status, had to develop an internal trade with European settler colonies and an external transfer of raw materials to the U.S. This was due to American business interests that preferred a trade economy exclusively dependent on the U.S. and did not want interference from European settler colonies. Liberia's economic policies were influenced by these factors, leading to a trade structure that favored the U.S. and involved the transfer of raw materials in exchange for economic benefits.

According to a different source, this question refers to the Farewell Address of George Washington. This is written in the form of a letter to the people of the United States.

In this letter, Washington warns the people of the dangers of becoming entangled in the affairs of other countries. One of the reasons he gives for this is the fact that becoming too close to certain countries might lead to excessive foreign influence and control. Another consequence of being interdependent with other countries is that forming a permanent alliance with a particular nation might alienate other ones. Finally, this interdependence can be positive when used to establish commercial relationships with other nations.

In Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court

Answers

The Brown v. Board of Education decision was a major turning point in American history. It marked a departure from the legal doctrine of "separate but equal" and helped to pave the way for greater racial equality in the United States. While there is still work to be done to address issues of systemic racism and inequality, the Brown v. Board of Education decision was an important step forward in the ongoing struggle for civil rights and social justice in America.

In Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court made a historic decision that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. The case was brought forward by African American parents who believed that the "separate but equal" doctrine, which had been upheld in Plessy v. Ferguson, was being violated in their children's schools.

The Supreme Court agreed, and in 1954, it issued a unanimous ruling that segregation in public schools violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Brown v. Board of Education decision had a significant impact on the Civil Rights Movement and led to a series of legal challenges to segregation in other areas of American society.

It also served as a catalyst for the Montgomery Bus Boycott and other acts of civil disobedience that were aimed at challenging segregation and discrimination.

which change has most affected us factory workers since 1990

Answers

Answer:

The most significant change that has affected US factory workers since 1990 is likely the increased adoption of automation and technology in manufacturing. Automation and technology have led to significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and quality control in the manufacturing process, but they have also contributed to a decline in manufacturing employment.

With the rise of automation, many routine and repetitive tasks that were previously performed by human workers can now be done by machines. This has led to a decrease in the demand for low-skilled manufacturing jobs, such as assembly line work. At the same time, the demand for workers with advanced technical skills, such as computer programming and robotics, has increased.

The impact of automation on employment has been significant. According to a report by the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University, automation accounted for 85% of the decline in US manufacturing employment between 2000 and 2010. Furthermore, the adoption of automation and technology in manufacturing is likely to continue in the future, which means that the impact on employment is likely to persist.

In summary, the increased adoption of automation and technology in manufacturing is the most significant change that has affected US factory workers since 1990. While this has led to improvements in efficiency and productivity, it has also contributed to a decline in manufacturing employment, particularly for low-skilled workers.

Dear Friend,

I hope this letter finds you well. It has been a year since we arrived in New England, and I am pleased to report that I have survived and even thrived in this new land.

The first few months were certainly a challenge. We arrived in the dead of winter, with little knowledge of the local customs or the harsh climate. Many of our fellow pilgrims fell ill or died, and there were times when I too despaired of ever making it through.

But thanks to the support of our community and the kindness of the local Native American tribes, I have managed to persevere. We have built sturdy homes and established a thriving settlement, with fields of crops and plentiful game in the forests.

I have even begun to explore this new world, venturing further afield to discover new plants and animals, and learning from the wisdom of the native peoples. Life here is not without its hardships, but it is also full of wonder and possibility.

I am proud to be a part of this pioneering community, and I know that our efforts here will lay the foundations for a better future for our families and our descendants. I miss England dearly, but I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this great adventure.

As Buddhism spread, elements of different belief systems changed and mixed. This is a process known as "syncretism". D. The Western Front stretched from Ireland to Spain and had lots of barbwire.

Answers

Both sides had dug 450 miles of trenches and stretched barbwire that ran from Switzerland to the North Sea which best describes the Western Front. The correct option is C.

What is the Western Front called?

The Germans called this area of combat "die Westfront," designating it as Imperial Germany's "western front" for the Imperial German Armies fighting France. The "eastern front" of Germany was the scene of combat between the Imperial German Armies and Russia.

The Western Front was the pivotal front in the First World War, a 400+ mile-long land swath that ran through France and Belgium from the Swiss border to the North Sea. The Central Powers or the Entente, whichever side prevailed, could then celebrate victory for their respective alliances.

Thus, the ideal selection is option C.

A parenting style characterized by high parent-to-child communication, low warmth, and high expectations of maturity is:a. authoritarian.b. authoritative.c. permissive.d. neglectful. The previous Discussions have provided the opportunity to share some elegant solutions to programming challenges, and many of them share one common traitthey all handle multiple objects with ease. Forget, for the moment, about some of the complexity involved. The formulas may seem strange, but do not worry. At this stage of programming, you are not expected to generate such things on your own; very few new programmers can. Instead, stop to consider the ways programs embrace the computers true assets.Machines do not mind doing the same thing over and over again; they never get bored. They are also capable of handling massive amounts of data in an impeccably organized manner. One of your challenges as a programmer is to communicate, through code, in an efficient way that plays to the computers strengths.Consider, for example, having to write a program to manage personnel records for all of the people working for your company. You certainly would not want to have to write a program with a unique variable for each unique person in the company. Every time a new employee was hired, someone would have to modify the program to add a new variable for that employee. Every time an employee left the company, someone would have to modify the program to remove that employees variable and data from the program. Clearly, this would be a very tedious way to automate personnel records. Instead, you need a way to manage that collection of personnel information in a more organized manner. In fact, you need a way of representing the collection of individual employees as just that, a single variable that provides access to all of the employees. Then, you can use loops to process the employee data. Fortunately, Java provides the concept of an array (and other similar collections, such as the ArrayList) to manage collections of similar objects. It takes time to truly grasp how powerful object-oriented programming can be and how you can harness its "objects-first" focus to make your own programs concise and elegant. Unfortunately, some programmers do not invest that time. They rely on brute forcerepetitive methods resulting in long programs that are, by nature, hard to review and debug.Return to the open source repositories you previously explored. Find a program that (A) uses at least one loop and a list effectively or (B) could use a loop and a list to improve the program.*. Response that summarizes your findings. The post should:1. Include a copy of the code that either (A) exemplifies concise, generalized code or (B) presents the perfect opportunity to apply loops, arrays, and lists to reduce the length of the program using a more elegant solution. Do not undertake a lengthy program; limit your code to approximately 20 lines.2. If the code is an exemplar of good coding, explain what leads you to that conclusion. Be specific.3. If the code needs improvement, include a rewritten version of the code, in which you apply one of the methods described above to improve the program. Explain how your solution better embraces a computers strengths as a tool that can perform calculations quickly, perform repetitive tasks, and/or manage data effectively.4. Add or revise comments in the code to accurately describe the function of the loop and list.Do not include the entire source code of the program you choose. Select just the portion with the necessary information, such as variable declarations and methods called from outside the class or method.
